Many may think the Veterinary Nurse Initiative is just about a title change, but it's more than that. Kenichiro Yagi, MS, RVT, VTS (ECC, SAIM), ICU manager at Adobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos, California, says the Veterinary Nurse Initiative will create a recognizable profession with a single identity that will allow veterinary technicians to pursue their goals better. 

Development of any kind of profession is a long-term process. But, the title change from veterinary technician to veterinary nurse will create a huge amount of momentum and leverage to pursue each of the goals of the Veterinary Nurse Initiative.
