Lisa Penny, RPh, FSVHP, director of pharmacy at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, encourages more veterinarians to use the Health Commerce System.

“A lot of vets are afraid of the Health Commerce System, they don't want to have anything to do with it. And I encourage them to do it, it's actually got a ton of useful information. You know, they even took stuff on the hepatitis outbreaks that are going around and Zika virus—so there's all sorts of really good information on there.

But I would like to see vets become more comfortable using the inspect website and looking at their clients, getting that information, because pharmacists can't track it at this point but the vets could. You know, they could easily say 'Before I prescribe for your animal I need to do an inspect on you so I need your date of birth.’”
