There are a few things that have been proven to be effective interventions for improving mental well-being, says David Bartram, BVetMed, FRCVS, director of outcomes research for Zoetis.

The No. 1 most effective intervention for improving mental health is being connected with a social network of people and having relationships you can count on, he says. Another thing that's well evidenced is gratitude — thinking of the three things you're grateful for that happened throughout your day can help your mental well-being.
