Healthy Paws Pet InsuranceIn an effort to engage with a younger demographic of pet owners, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has announced it is partnering with, the nation's largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers.

The new arrangement between the two companies will not only inform pet owners of the services offers — local pet boarding and sitting, dog walking and drop-in visits — it also aims to raise awareness for the benefits of pet insurance. Current Rover users and pet sitters can expect to see articles and receive emails detailing the benefits of pet insurance. Additionally, within the care instructions on Rover’s app, pet parents will be prompted with questions about what, if any, pet insurance they currently have for their pets.

“ and Healthy Paws share the same goal: helping pet parents take the best possible care of their four-legged friends,” said John Lapham, general counsel and head of business development at Rover. "We know that health care for pets can sometimes be as expensive as it is for people.”

In a press release detailing the partnership, Healthy Paws pointed out that despite the fact that millennials are redefining what it means to be a pet parent — delaying having children, creating social media accounts for their pets, purchasing pet-centric technology — the majority of pet owners are still not aware that pet health insurance exists or understand how it works. “Since is particularly popular with a younger clientele, Healthy Paws will have another avenue to reach the demographic who might benefit from a break in vet bills the most.”

According to Healthy Paws, which receives more than 200,000 claims each year, stomach issues and skin conditions are among the most common ailments for both cats and dogs. And the company’s top individual claims in 2017 surpassed $20,000. As part of its coverage plans, Healthy Paws helps clients save up to 90 percent on veterinary invoices.

"We know that many pet parents take time off work to be with their four-legged family members when they're sick. really takes the worry out of those moments," said Rob Jackson, co-founder and CEO at Healthy Paws Pet Insurance.
